Kurseong Town is surrounded by several tea gardens. Some gardens have provided guided tour such as Makaibari Tea Estate and Castleton Tea Estate. With their help, one can contact garden workers and understand tea processing by visiting the factory.
Giddha Pahar
While in Kurseong one should not forget to visit Giddha Pahar. The road was constructed during British Rule by cutting huge heavy rocks.
At the time of constructing the road, the then Prime Minister of Nepal Jung Bahadur Rana had visited the place. There is a tale among local people that three conch shells flew from the hill of Giddha Pahar and Jung Bahadur Rana managed to catch a conch shell while it was flying. It is said that this made him so daring and powerful.
Here a Museum of Subhash Chandra Bose was founded. He was put under House Arrest by the British Ruler.
Eagle’s Craig
Another beautiful spot to visit is From Eagle Craig, one can enjoy the glimpse of the beauty of Siliguri which can be seen far below. A glorious view of sunset is also seen from here. The beauty of the tiny Kurseong town can be enjoyed from here.
Bagora
There is Bagora nearly 10 kms from the Kurseong Town. The place got its name as it was a meeting place of the tigers some hundreds years ago. From here we can enjoy far flung of Sittong. Sittong is the biggest busty of Kurseong Sub division. Various types of farming are done here. We can have beautiful orange garden view. Cardamom farming, ginger farming, cow raring etc.
Now a days local people of the Sittong area has started homestay business. So one can stay for some days and can enjoy the beauty of Kanchenjunga. They can also do fishing in Ryang Khola which is at the foot of the hill.
Balasun River
While in Kurseong a picnic spot at Balasun river should not be missed. It is at the foot of the Kurseong Town, nearly seven kilometers from the Kurseong Town. It is connected by jeepable road. On the way, there is Rinchington Hydel Project, so one can have a look at it too on the way to Balasun River.
Bhasghari
At Kurseong, there is a peculiar village named Bhasghari. It is surrounded by landslides from almost all directions. You will hear the sound of landslides throughout the year.

Kurseong is reached by road from Siliguri and takes about an hour from Siliguri to reach Kurseong. There is a Toy Train journey available too from NJP Station. The journey would be very enjoyable though it takes nearly three hours to reach Kurseong Town by Toy Train.
Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport from here one can reach Kurseong within one and a half hour via Panighatta – Pankhabari Road.
